Juan Jose Davila Espinoza

I am a Venezuelan Illustrator and Animator, recently graduated from the University of Central Florida, with a BFA in Experimental Animation.  I've always been passionate about writing and creating stories to connect with people. My stories have a sense of whimsy that juxtaposes with the deeper themes of self-discovery and the grim realities of the world. I draw a lot of inspiration from world mythology and Venezuelan Folk tales, which focus on teaching lessons through the lens of the magical realism stories such as El silbon (the Whistler), Los Momoyes, la Dientona (Big tooth), and many others that combine fantastical elements within the confines of real-world settings.
