Juan Jose Davila Espinoza

I am a Venezuelan Illustrator and Animator, with a BFA in Experimental Animation from the University of Central Florida.  I've always been passionate about writing and creating stories to connect with people. My stories have a sense of whimsy that juxtaposes with the deeper themes of self-discovery and the grim realities of the world through the use of colors and the emotions they carry. I draw a lot of inspiration from world mythology and Venezuelan Folk tales, which focus on teaching lessons through the lens of the magical realism stories such as El silbon (the Whistler), Los Momoyes, la Dientona (Big tooth), and many others that combine fantastical elements within the confines of real-world settings.
